They Walk But Do Not Follow

They walk but do not follow, the mist and the rain, the heart and the pain. They walk but do not follow, the change of colors, the struggle of what remains. They walk but do not follow, the intelligence that is with them always. It’s presence a reminder, of a conversation waiting to be had. Silence has never felt so alone, the children they walk but do not follow.
