The Young Astronaut

A burst of light, it crashed before my eyes, rippling into the lake. Stunned and drawn in, thrashing through the murky water, I waded out to the wreckage. A capsule, it seemed so familiar. A window, fogged and glazed over. As the door opened, it was, me. I’m not sure what is happening, I, he fell out into my arms, weak and struggling to speak. He said don’t leave, its to soon. Don’t depart from this atmosphere, take care of it. The rest, everything else, is not ready for us. You need to stay a little longer, don’t worry you will get your chance.
