The Dancer

may pole

Life, the wild dancer, whirling across the floor, twisting and turning with instinctive rhythms, the pronouncements of the gods, a center is found in every direction, subtle bodies made for this arabesque, to weave not around, but through all obstacles, to immerse with the movements, yet the mind has become a dispassionate spectator, always counting the steps, forwards and backwards, to reflect, is to miss the next, to struggle with maya, always trying to catch back up to that moment when we were once in step with our beloved partner, most of us never realizing that we were leading the whole time, as our song comes to a close.
